PhysiCal Ability Testing

ToDAYS Physical Ability Testing assesses an individual's capacity to perform a variety of physical tasks or activities showing an athlete’s baseline of athleticism. These tests are used in various contexts, including camps, combines and other sport related evaluations, and fitness programs. Here's a description of what ToDAYS Physical Ability Testing typically involves:

01 Components of Physical Ability Testing

Tests may include (not limited to) various components, such as:

  1. Anaerobic Power (Speed): Sprints, Jump Test(s), Power Clean, MedBall Throws etc.

  2. Strength & Strength Endurance Tests: Evaluating muscular strength, often categorized into upper body, lower body, and core strength.

  3. Anaerobic Capacity: Anaerobic system is maximally stressed in short-duration high-intensity activities (generally between 30s and several minutes).

  4. Cardiovascular Endurance: Assessing the ability of the cardiovascular system to sustain effort over an extended period.

  5. Flexibility Assessments: Measuring the range of motion and flexibility in joints.

  6. Agility and Coordination Tests: Gauging the ability to move quickly and change direction efficiently.

  7. Balance Tests: Evaluating stability and control.

02 Tailored to Specific Requirements:

04 Scoring and Evaluation:

Tests are often designed to evaluate specific physical attributes relevant to a particular activity, or sport. For example, a basketball or volleyball player may test in various jumps and plyometric efforts, while a soccer player's test may emphasize speed, agility, and endurance.

Results are typically quantified and compared to established norms or standards. This allows for the objective evaluation of an individual's physical abilities relative to a relevant population.

03 Safety Measures:

Physical ability testing is conducted with safety in mind. Proper warm-up, supervision, and, when necessary, medical clearance are often included in the testing process. *Waiver Required

05 Feedback &

Improvement:

Individuals undergoing Physical Ability Testing may receive feedback on their performance. This information can be used to identify areas for improvement and guide targeted training programs.
